I don't get it. We're a good group of guys but, anyone we recruit just ends up quitting. We're active as all get up, all above 18 (i'm 25 for heck's sake), hardcore, and hellbent on competing as much as possible. Of course...we're reforming as well. We cut loose and siphoned out the weak and meager. We're only 6 strong right now but the 6 we have are all about fun and PvP.

Now, everyone and their mother has a guild. And most of them are just social guilds. I know there are people out there looking to PvP, compete in leagues/tourneys and just have a blast with some strategically minded individuals.

So, why is it that everyone ends up quitting? We aren't d-bags. We aren't full of ourselves. We're super nice and involve new recruits in the affairs of the guild immediately. Maybe it's because I don't pimp that we have capes (useless) and a hall. Perhaps it's because I refuse to promote someone to officer 'just because' (as one recruit hopeful told me). Perhaps it's because they only see 6 members?

But, what in the world do you do to make people realize that your guild WILL be competing in every way, shape and form? How do you sell your ideas and goals to a bunch of jumpy, sporadic, guild jumpers?

Unfortunately I'm one of those guild jumpers, so maybe I can help you keep them.

I've learned that any guild that recruits from towns will be full of sufficient idiots to drive me away, especially once I have to hear them on TS.

Sadly, some small guilds simply die, or don't pvp at all, despite saying they do.

And most importantly... use your guild message of the day (forgot what it's called exactly) to advertise events. Tell everyone what days and times you plan on doing tombs or GvG, don't just hope to get it going out of the blue. Furthermore, if you don't have a full eight, everyone online should be expected to participate, anyone can roll up a 20 pvp character regardless of lvl, and you may not win that time, but everyone will have fun and learn.

If they don't wanna participate and they're online, learn to be less nice and boot 'em. I leave most guilds because they consist of one frustrated guild master trying to start an unplanned event, and a bunch of dead weight that's online all the time, but never actually wants to participate in any pvp the poor guild leader tries to organize.

Finding a good guild is impossible. PUG's and the friends list is all that works for me so far.

Well, if all 6 of you are on frequently, I'm all up for helping you get enough for a GvG. I might not ditch my current guild permanently, but that shouldn't be an issue for you - since all you say you want to do is get enough to GvG/HoH/wear pants.
